Why play for the Rush?

The Rush is a competitive club softball program founded in 2017. We are based out of the St. Francis area. We encourage multi-sport athletes. Our philosophy is to provide a single team focus with emphasis on team cohesion and communication with players about their development. The Rush compete in USSSA, USA, and NAFA sanctioned tournaments. We are a year-round program that competes in a fall league, winter league/tournaments, and 5-7 summer tournaments. Our club is reasonably priced as one of the lower cost club teams. We charge $1,500 for the full softball year, which starts in the fall and finishes in the summer. Payment plans are available.

Meet the Coaches

Our coaches have a philosophy, that softball is about developing skills while having fun playing the game you love.


  • Co-Head Coach

    Mike has been with the Rush since our inception in 2017 and the Head Coach since 2021. Mike has been coaching softball for over 10 years and is currently the Assistant Coach at Anoka-Ramsey Community College.


  • Co-Head Coach

    Brian joined the Rush Staff in 2021. Leaning on his 20+ baseball playing career, Brian is able to provide insight to hitting and fielding. Brian is currently the Head Coach for Anoka-Ramsey Community College and also provides private instruction through Five Tool Academy .


  • Assistant Coach

    Maddy played for the Rush from 2022-2025. During her time with the Rush she cemented her name in the record book as the all-time RBI leader and second all-time in games played, hits, and runs scored. Maddy is currently playing for Anoka-Ramsey Community College.


  • Assistant Coach

    Kaely played for the Rush from 2022-2026. With the Rush Kaely left a lasting impact, as second all-time in games played, seventh all-time in hits, sixth all-time in RBIs, 3rd all-time in Runs and Stolen bases. Kaely is continuing her softball career at Anoka-Ramsey Community College

Giving Back

River City Rush has partnered with Mission 22, a an organization that provides personalized support and resources to Veterans and their families.
